🚀 Subscribe and Restore
Subscribe
- Open Expense Tracker: Koala and go to “Settings”
- Tap the user card at the top of the page (sign in with Apple first if you haven’t)
- Enter the membership page and choose a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a Lifetime membership (one-time purchase)
- Complete the payment following the App Store prompts
💡 Tip: Membership pricing is subject to what the App Store actually shows and charges; an annual subscription usually shows an equivalent “per month” amount.
⚠️ Only if you already have a subscription: if you’re currently on a monthly or annual subscription, buying Lifetime does not cancel it, and Apple does not refund fees already paid. Cancel it first under “Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions”; otherwise it keeps renewing when the paid period ends. If you’ve never subscribed, there’s nothing to cancel.
Restore Purchases
After switching devices or reinstalling: enter the membership page and tap “Restore Purchases” in the top-right corner, then follow the prompts to restore your membership status (subject to the App Store subscription status).
Cancel Subscription
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store and can be canceled under your system “Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions”. After canceling, you can still use your membership benefits for the current paid period; it will not renew when it expires.
🔄 Membership Status
- Membership benefits are subject to the purchase/subscription status in the App Store; a Lifetime membership stays valid long term
- If your benefits don’t take effect after “Restore Purchases”, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple account used for the purchase, and try again later

🔧 FAQ
Q1: Koala offers both subscriptions and a Lifetime membership. Which should I choose?
Both grant the same benefits; only the payment model differs. A monthly or annual subscription is a good fit if you want to try it for a while and cancel anytime; a Lifetime membership is paid once and stays valid long term, for people who know they’ll keep using it and don’t want to manage renewals. Pricing is subject to what the App Store shows.
Note: this applies only if you already have a subscription. Buying Lifetime does not cancel it and does not refund fees already paid — cancel the subscription in the App Store first; otherwise it keeps renewing when the paid period ends. If you’ve never subscribed, there’s nothing to cancel.
Q2: What are the limitations for free users?
Free users can use features such as bookkeeping, cloud sync, and quick entry, but the total number of bills is limited to 300, and multiple ledgers, multi-currency, bill export, bill splitting, scheduled accounting, reimbursements, refunds, and bill filter are not available.
Q3: Is my membership still valid after switching phones?
Purchase records are stored by the App Store. After switching devices or reinstalling, sign in with the Apple account you used for the purchase and tap “Restore Purchases” to restore it (this also applies to Lifetime membership).
